The Humboldt Association of Realtors is a trade association representing more than 354 Realtors in Humboldt County.

The orginial Eureka Real Estate Board was formally organized more than 87 years ago on January 25, 1922 and chartered by the State and National Associations of Realtors on May 30th of the same year. With a founding membership of 9 Brokers and 14 sales agents, the Association has grown to a current membership of 354 Realtors, 68 real estate sales agents (multiple listing service only) and 130 Affiliate members.

Under the direction of our 2009 Executive Officers Eric Peterson, President; Kevin Dreyer, President-Elect; and Kathi Ray, Secretary/Treasurer, the Humboldt Association of Realtors provides services that enhance the knowledge and resources for real estate professionals and the communities they serve through ongoing education, training, information and support services. In partnership with business affiliates, HAR adds value to the community by advocating private property rights, by providing community service and promoting quality of life.

As members of organized real estate, Realtors subscribe to a strict code of ethics and have access to numerous services and programs to enhance their professionalism. In conjunction with the California Association of Realtor's extensive legislative advocacy program, members are well-represented on local, state and federal issues that affect real property.

In addition, Realtor members are active in the community donating more than $62,000 in 2008 to local community agencies and charities including the HAR sponsored "Toys for Kids" drive and Eel River Little League.

All these--and other--programs and services are designed to increase the professionalism of members giving Realtors the tools they need to better serve their clients.
