Local Realtors Meet With State Legislators

LOCAL REALTORS® MEET WITH STATE LEGISLATORS

On Wednesday, June 9th, the California Association of REALTORS® hosted its 39th annual Legislative Day, where Realtors® from across the state came to Sacramento to hear from the state's political leaders and to lobby their state legislators on behalf of the real estate industry.

MARK NICHOLSON SCHOLARSHIPS

Eureka....The Humboldt Association of REALTORSâ recently announced the recipients of the Mark Nicholson Memorial Scholarships totaling $3,500.00 in awards.

Receiving $1,000 Mark Nicholoson Scholarships each were Alex Hunt, Dane Valadao and Kyle Williams. $500 was awarded to Erica Lankila.

* HAR Announces 2009 Awards

The Humboldt Association of REALTORSâ annually honors three of their members with Realtorâ, Rookie and Affiliate of the Year Awards.

 

Honored at the Association's annual installation dinner held in January at the Baywood Golf & Country Club were Realtor® of the Year, Joyce West of Community Realty; Rookie of the Year, Suzanne Daley of Coldwell Banker Sellers Realty; and Affiliate of the Year, Randi Ellis of iServe Residential Lending.

 

* HAR Scholarship Applications Available

Applications are now available for Humboldt Association of REALTORS annual scholarships. Scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled at a college or university whose studies are centered on, or support, a career in Real Estate Sales, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Management, Real Estate Appraisal, Real Estate Investments, Real Estate Economics and/or Real Estate Law, Escrow, Title and Property Management, Interior Decorating, Construction Technologies, Landscaping, Woodworking, Cabinet Making, Architectural Design, Engineering and/or Drafting.

Realtors Donate to Boy Scouts of America Redwood Empire Council

Eureka, Ca....Members of the Humboldt Association of REALTORSâ recently presented a $5,000.00 check to the Boys Scouts of America Redwood Empire Council. These proceeds from HAR's 15th Annual Golf Tournament held in September, will assist with much needed building restoration and improvements including new windows, roof, heating and paint.

The Boys Scouts of America prepare young people with the tools they will need to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Rental Ordinance Workshop

Eureka City Councilmember Larry Glass will host a Workshop to discuss the proposed the city's Rental Housing Ordinance on Tuesday, August 11th at 6:30 p.m. The workshop will be held at the Whafinger Building, #1 Marina Way in Eureka.

For your review, attached is a copy of the City of Eureka's "Agenda Summary" and the proposed "Rental Housing Program" Ordinance.
