HAR Cares for Youth Outreach Program
Mission Statement – The HAR Cares for Youth committee’s mission is to engage with and support youth in our community by conducting outreach activities and fundraising to provide health, safety, and educational resources. Our goal is to serve individuals and supportive organizations in Humboldt County through knowledge, compassion, and empowerment to assist youth in reaching their full potential.
Assistance Offered
HAR Cares for Youth is a sub-committee that was formed by the Humboldt Association of Realtors® in 2019 to assist the youth, and families with youth, in our community who are in need.
The HAR Cares for Youth committee’s mission is to engage with and support youth in our community by conducting outreach activities and fundraising to provide health, safety, and educational resources. Our goal is to serve individuals and supportive organizations in Humboldt County through knowledge, compassion, and empowerment to assist youth in reaching their full potential.
HAR Cares for Youth would like to partner with you to help youth in our community year-round! If your organization, or one that you know of, has a need we can fill, please do not hesitate to reach out as a Requestor. Some of the projects that we are considering helping with are:
· Temporary assistance for food, housing, or clothing on an emergency basis
· School supplies & items for back to school
· Coat, sock, and book drives
· Sports equipment
· ‘Welcome Home’ boxes for homeless families with children moving into their first home.
· Holiday meals for families with children
· And more!
The HAR Cares for Youth Committee will provide assistance through monetary contributions* or physical item donations for services requested in alignment with the Mission Statement. Donations are given to individuals, Humboldt County schools, youth organizations, and youth service programs.
*Note: Monetary Contributions are not given directly to individuals. All items approved for individual (non-organizational) requests will be pre-purchased or pre-paid directly by HAR Cares for Youth.

Requesting Assistance
Requests for assistance by the HAR Cares for Youth program should be submitted electronically to Elena@HARealtors.com or in person at 220 First Street, Eureka CA 95501. All requests must be completed using the HAR Cares Request Form. You can find this document attached below. Please try to include as much information as possible about the situation when filling out the request form, all information is kept strictly confidential. Incomplete forms could impact approval of submitted requests.
Please allow 60 days for requests to be reviewed and approved following submission. If the request is urgent, please indicate this on the form and in the subject line of your email when submitting the form. Urgent requests take 2-4 business days to process.
Annual Fundraising
All funding for donations from HAR Cares for Youth is fundraiser directly by local events hosted by the committee. Our annual fundraisers are listed below along with their scheduled dates for 2024. Please visit the Event Calendar to register to participate in upcoming events.
Quarter Craze Fundraiser: 2024 Event - March 28, 2024 at Loleta Fireman's Pavilion
Bowling Tournament: 2024 Event - August 2, 2024 at Harbor Lanes
School Supplies Drive: Held in conjunction with the 2024 Bowling Tournament. Donations will be distributed beginning of August - end of September 2024.
